Evaluation

Gain a deeper understanding of the impact your program is having through thoughtful evaluation that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches.

We are currently taking on evaluations based on administrative and survey data gathered by the organization, either ongoing or retrospective.

If you are looking for larger scale, multi-site, or highly qualitative evaluation, we would love to refer you to evaluators in our network.

Our approach:

In our work together, we’ll think through how we want to frame the evaluation questions and begin by completing a logic model or theory of change and aligning it to your strategic plan.

Our methodology is often guided by developmental evaluation, which encourages continuous feedback and dialogue with program participants. We include quantitative and qualitative measurements and understand how to illicit good, open-ended responses and can effectively analyze them.

In our evaluation report, we include a stand-alone executive summary, full documentation of the evaluation, and recommendations for what comes next.

Our evaluation expertise includes:

• Working with institutional review boards for projects that required sensitive individual-level data collection (i.e. academic or health data)

• Working with large administrative data sets

• Cleaning data collected in spreadsheets

• Developing protocols for data privacy, confidentiality, and secure storage

• Developing surveys that align with previous research

• Conducting interviews and focus groups, online or in-person

• Mixed-methods reporting

• Advanced training in data visualization

• Effectively communicating results for a wide audience

NOTE: We take on the reporting for grants we’ve written, but outsource evaluation work to avoid a conflict of interest and to ensure the work is objective.
